About the Event
In the early 19th century composers began adding an additional movement to their full-length works, and these were intended to provide comic relief (“scherzo” is Italian for “joke”). In this program the Saint Michael Trio will explore the evolution of the scherzo, exploring the tools used for humor and contrast. When it’s done the audience will vote for their favorite and Saint Mike will send you out with a reprise.
